Aisha Babangida


Aisha Babangida is a visionary leader with a demonstrated history of working within philanthropy and helping underserved communities throughout Nigeria. She is the Chairperson of the Better Life Program for the African Rural Woman (BLPARW). She has over 20 years’ experience working with several non-profit organisations.

Aisha is responsible for the overall direction of BLPARW. She is dedicated to the cause of the African woman through empowerment thus fuelling her passion to do more for the people of her country, Nigeria and the continent, Africa.

In addition to her passion and commitment to philanthropy, Aisha is very keen on empowerment. She believes that every African woman should be empowered. Through her work and outreach, she realised the importance of micro-finance and banking to the Nigerian economy. In 2016, she founded Egwafin Microfinance Bank. Egwafin helps cooperatives and small business owners gain access to credit facilities.

Her work and her efforts to improve the living standards of the rural woman have been recognised nationally and internationally. She has humbly accepted many awards and Prizes.


Cyrilla Bwakira

Executive Director

Cyrilla joined the team in 2018 after 30 years of experience working in both public and private organisations. She has extensive experience working for international organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and state-owned enterprises.


Noorene Sallie

Chief Operating Officer

Noorene joined the team in 2018 after 25 years’ experience working across multiple sectors in Cameroon, Nigeria, Swaziland, South Africa and the UK. Her expertise includes Business Process Re-engineering, Training, Development Programs, Change Management and Project Management.


Taiwo Bello

Chief Financial Officer

Taiwo joined in 2019. She has 13 years’ experience in Financial Accounting and multi-currency finances within public and private sectors. Taiwo holds BSc in Accounting and MBA degrees. She is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).


Haruna Abdulrahman Enoch

Head of Partnership/Fundraising

Haruna joined in 2017. He has 10 years’ work experience as a program and business development manager, as well as teaching Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Haruna holds BSc and MSc degrees in Information Technology (IT).


Idongesit Ekanem

Head, Projects/Research

Idongesit joined the in 2012. He has 10 years’ experience in ICT Network Management, Project Management, as well as in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Idongeist has a Bsc degree in Physics and he is a certified Trainer both Project Management and Shea Nut Management.


Annette Stephen Amaech

Head, Administration/Human Resource

Annette joined in 2014. She has 8 years’ experience in Administration Management and Human Resources development. She is an avid mentor and coach to youth. Annette has BSc and HND in Business Administration and also ND in Mass Communication.


Aisha Muhammad Babayo

Community/Cooperative Engagement

Aisha joined the organisation in 2018. She has 9 years’ experience in Banking, Accounting, Community Engagement and Women Cooperative Societies. Aisha holds a BSc degree in Economics. She has also trained and empowered women into trade.


Victor Woko

IT/Social Media Assistant

Victor joined in 2018. He has 5 years’ experience in Programming, Database Management and Graphic Design. Victor holds BSc and MSc degrees in Engineering. He also holds an International Computer Drivers License (ICDL) from South Africa.


Abdulganiyu Elelu

Finance Officer

Abdulganiyu joined in 2014. He has 7 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting. He has a BSc degree in Accounting and a PGD in Management & Entrepreneurship. Abdul worked with AgricTech Nigeria, training rural women in Agriculture.
